Frequently asked questions

A few helpful details about palettes, exports, accessibility, and privacy.

Is HueHub free to use?

Yes. HueHub is free to use in your browser. You don’t need to create an account or install anything.

Can I use HueHub palettes in a commercial game?

Yes. You can use colors you create with HueHub in personal or commercial projects, including games and websites.

Which game engines can I export to?

Copy palette code for Godot (GDScript), Unity (C#), Defold (Lua), or LÖVE (Lua). You can also export CSS variables, JSON, or a PNG image.

How do I choose a palette style for my game?

Start with the mood you want to create. Cyberpunk Neon, Dungeon Gloom, and Toxic Wasteland suit more intense settings; Cozy Farmstead and Candy Pastel feel lighter. Open a style page to compare sample palettes.

Can I check whether a palette works for colorblind players?

Turn on Colorblind safe to compare colors in protanopia, deuteranopia, and tritanopia simulations. HueHub also spreads colors across lightness to help keep them distinct. It’s a useful check, but always test important game information in context.

How many colors should a game palette have?

Four to six colors can be a useful starting point: a background, a secondary color, one or two accents, and a text color. Try the 60-30-10 rule as a guide, not a strict formula, then adjust the balance to suit your game.

Does HueHub save my palettes?

No. HueHub doesn’t have a palette database or require an account. Your colors are generated in the browser and included in the shareable link.

How can I share a palette with my team?

Choose Copy palette link and send the URL to your team. When they open it, they’ll see the same colors without needing an account.
